Tax Incentives and Deductions for Solar Panels in Andalusia

This page summarises, for informational purposes, the main incentives and deductions currently available for solar self-consumption in Andalusia. It does not replace advice from a tax professional: each individual case (primary residence, rental, business, community of owners) may have different requirements. We review and update this information every quarter.

Income tax (IRPF) deduction

Spain's national deduction for energy-efficiency home improvements applies in three tiers, depending on the type of work and the energy savings achieved:

Tier 20%

Reduced heating/cooling demand

Requires an Electrical Installation Certificate (CIE). Maximum deduction base: €5,000/year.

Tier 40%

30% reduction in non-renewable primary energy consumption

Requires an Energy Performance Certificate (CEE) before and after the work. Maximum base: €7,500/year.

Tier 60% (most common for single-family houses)

Energy rating improved to A or B

Tax savings of up to €3,000/year. This is the tier that usually applies to solar installations on single-family houses.

To claim the deduction, the installation must be completed within the current deadline and hold the certificates required for each tier. Check with your tax advisor which tier applies to your specific case.

Municipal rebates: IBI and ICIO

Each city council voluntarily decides whether to offer rebates on property tax (IBI) and on the construction/works tax (ICIO). In Malaga city, as a reference:

These rebates are not automatic: they must be requested within the deadline (usually before 1 February of the year they apply to). If your installation is in Marbella, Mijas, Fuengirola, Benalmadena or Granada, check your council's specific conditions — we can help you verify this.

Junta de Andalucía subsidies

The regional government (Junta de Andalucía) channels its self-consumption incentives through the INEA programme (Incentivos para el Uso Eficiente de la Energía en Andalucía), funded by the Andalusia FEDER 2021-2027 Programme. It includes a dedicated line for private houses and residential buildings, alongside lines for businesses, smart grids and vulnerable households.

As of this update, INEA's business/self-employed line has been open since November 2025; the residential line is pending publication in the Andalusian Official Gazette (BOJA), with opening expected during 2026. We'll update the aid percentages and deadlines here as soon as the residential call is published.

We'll let you know as soon as the residential line opens and help with the application, as well as with any other incentive in force when we prepare your quote.
